ANNUAL SPORTS

The Annual Sports Event of K.E. Carmel, Behala is held once in a year around the months of December and January. Different sports events are arranged for the aspiring and enthusiastic Carmelites. Solo events like sprint race, relay race, hop race, sack race, discus throw, long jump and high jump have been the major attractions for the students of Primary section in the past few years. Team sports like kho-kho, kabaddi, football, basketball etc. have been mostly in the interest area for the students of the senior secondary section. After the rigorous practice in the guidance of the Sports teacher and sports captain, the budding sportsmen outshine in the final sports day to bring laurels for their respective houses.

The event is inaugurated by hoisting our National flag to boost the sense of nationality, unity and diversity among the students. It is followed by the well synchronized March Past being performed by the Scouts and Guides of the senior section. They are accompanied by the colourful drills in the presence of the chief guest, principal, teachers and the parents. The cheers from the audience inspire a student to perform his/her best. The school believes in instilling the values of sportsmanship, cooperation, competitiveness and leadership among the students with the help of such energetic and exciting activities.
